Brent is an architect with over a decade of professional design experience. Since joining 701 in 2013 he has taken on leadership in design, project management and construction administration. Endlessly curious about the intersections between architecture, urbanism, politics, populism and popular culture – he is our proud resident nerd.
After graduating with his Bachelor of Environmental Design from the University of Manitoba in 2005 he joined the multi-family and education teams at the Stantec Winnipeg office. During his time there he gained experience working on schools and teacherages for Black River First Nation and Mosakahiken Cree Nation in northern Manitoba, and multi-family condominiums in downtown Winnipeg. From there he made the move to Toronto in 2007 to pursue his professional Master of Architecture degree at the University of Toronto John H. Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape and Design. Prior to graduating he gained further educational design experience working on the Vernon Secondary School while employed at MQN Architects in Vernon, British Columbia.
After completing his thesis he returned to Winnipeg in 2010 to join the team at Verne Reimer Architecture. During that time his work was featured in a Winnipeg Free Press article on the importance of incremental urban infill to the city on July 18, 2011.
